Winter gives northeast China a character all its own. Snow settles deep over wooden rooftops, birch forests fall quiet, and red lanterns cast a warm glow across village streets. In Harbin, grand façades and Russian flavours tell another part of the region’s story.
We designed this journey to bring these worlds together, balancing days outdoors with time to enjoy the places you pass through. In Yabuli, a private instructor helps you find your confidence on skis, while a horse-drawn sleigh offers a gentler way to explore the forest. In China’s Snow Town, the experience continues into the evening, with lantern-lit walks, local folk performances and a private dumpling dinner.
Back in Harbin, there is time for historic neighbourhoods, walks beside the Songhua River and an elegant Russian-style meal. With private transport and thoughtfully arranged stays throughout, the journey invites you to experience both the exhilaration of winter and the warmth of life in China’s northeast.
Perfect For: Travellers drawn to snowy landscapes and winter activities who also enjoy distinctive architecture, regional food and cultural discovery.

The rest of the day is yours to settle in and explore. For a first taste of the city, visit the Chinese Baroque Historic Quarter, where ornate façades frame the streets of old Harbin. Along the way, you might try guo bao rou—crispy pork in a sweet-and-sour glaze—Harbin smoked sausage or a famous Modern ice cream.
