At ZENFU Travel, we believe a truly rewarding China journey is built on clarity, trust and peace of mind. This page outlines our booking conditions and policies in full, ensuring you have all the details needed to make informed decisions about your journey with us.
We design every part of our service around you — including our booking terms. Grounded in flexibility and thoughtful care, our policies prioritize your comfort and confidence every step of the way. Whether you are here to explore living intangible heritage, wander through ancient towns, savor local culinary traditions, or lose yourself in China’s dramatic landscapes, we are committed to delivering thoughtful, authentic journeys and lasting, meaningful memories.
Assumption of Risks
I acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied to participate on the journey designated on this application (or a journey which I may subsequently transfer to). I am voluntarily participating on the journey with knowledge that travel to China and/or remote areas visited by this journey involves numerous risks and dangers including, but not limited to: force majeure, civil unrest, terrorism; roads, trails, hotels, vehicles, boats or other means of conveyance which are not operated or maintained at standards common of developed countries; high altitude; accident or illness without access to means of rapid evacuation or availability of medical supplies; the adequacy of medical attention once provided; physical exertion for which I am not prepared; consumption of alcoholic beverages; or negligence (but not willful or fraudulent conduct) on the part of ZENFU Travel or others. I acknowledge that the enjoyment and excitement of authentic cultural travel is derived in part from the inherent risks incurred by travel and activity beyond the accepted safety of life at home or work, and that these inherent risks contribute to such enjoyment and excitement, being a reason for my voluntary participation.
I hereby agree to be responsible for my own welfare, and accept any and all risks of delay, unanticipated events, illness, injury, emotional trauma, or death.
Release of Liability
I acknowledge that the cost of all ZENFU Travel journeys is based upon trip participants executing this release of liability and assumption of all risks. Therefore, as lawful consideration for being permitted to participate on such journey(s), I hereby release and discharge ZENFU Travel and its agents and employees from and against any and all liability arising from my participation in the journey. I agree that this release shall be legally binding upon myself, all minors under the age of 21 traveling with me, my heirs, successors, and legal representatives; it being my intention to fully assume all the risk of travel and to release ZENFU Travel from any and all liabilities to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Knowing and Voluntary Execution
I have carefully read and fully understand the contents and legal ramifications of this agreement as well as all the conditions as stated under the heading ‘Booking Conditions’, especially noting those regarding cancellation and refund policies, limitation of liability, and responsibility borne by the participants. I understand this is a legally binding and enforceable contract and sign it with my own free will.
Itinerary and Quotation Validity
All information in this itinerary is accurate to the best of our knowledge but please note that changes to our journeys can and do occur. This may be due to our effort to improve your experience or logistical reasons such as changes in train/flight schedules, government policies, seasonal variations or site closures. ZENFU Travel will make every effort to keep you informed of any material changes, but cannot be held liable for any alterations made to the published itineraries.
The prices listed are based on the costs and exchange rates current at the time of enquiry. Prices are not guaranteed until booking is confirmed and deposit is received.
Reservations
A deposit is required to secure your reservation. To confirm your custom journey, a deposit of USD 500 per booking is required. This deposit is fully credited toward your final trip balance and allows us to begin securing accommodations, private transportation, expert guides and exclusive cultural experiences on your behalf.
Complete payment of the remaining balance is required 30 days prior to your departure date. For journeys booked less than 30 days before departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.
Journey prices are based on double occupancy unless otherwise specified. If a customer fails to make full payment of the journey 30 days prior to departure, ZENFU Travel reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit to cover costs already incurred.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that travel plans can sometimes change. If you need to cancel your trip, please contact us in writing as soon as possible.
The applicable refund is based on how far in advance you cancel, calculated from the date we receive your written cancellation:

Refunds are calculated based on the amount paid, after deducting any non-refundable costs already incurred on your behalf, including confirmed hotel reservations, transportation, airline or railway tickets, pre-booked experiences and applicable payment-processing fees.
For this reason, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation and interruption.
Itinerary Changes
We understand that a tailor-made journey may evolve as your plans become clearer.
Depending on availability and how close you are to departure, we can usually adjust destinations, experiences, accommodation or the pace of your journey.
Any additional costs or non-refundable charges resulting from changes will be discussed and agreed with you before the changes are confirmed.
Service Disruptions
We will always do our best to maintain the original experience and standard of your journey.
If a confirmed service becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control, we will propose a suitable alternative of comparable quality and discuss the change with you before proceeding whenever possible.
Other Important Notes
ZENFU Travel reserves the right to cancel or postpone any journey due to reasons outside its control (i.e. travel restrictions, natural disasters, political instability, or public health emergencies). If such cases occur within 30 days of departure, ZENFU Travel will refund clients fully less any expenses incurred to date that are non-refundable.
Insurance
We strongly recommend that all travelers carry comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation and baggage loss for the duration of their journey.
All ZENFU Travel travelers are required to provide a copy of their travel insurance policy prior to trip departure. If you’re looking for a provider, we can offer recommendations upon request.
Passport and Visas
You must carry a valid passport and have obtained the appropriate visas when traveling with ZENFU Travel. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond the duration of your trip.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of the correct visas and entry documents for your journey. ZENFU Travel can provide general guidance regarding entry requirements and supporting documents, but cannot accept responsibility if you are refused entry to a region because you lack the correct visa documentation.
ZENFU Travel will assist you in obtaining the appropriate permits required for traveling to restricted areas in China (e.g. Tibet), but this is not always guaranteed. In the case that an application is rejected by government authorities, ZENFU Travel reserves the right to cancel the trip and refund any recoverable costs.
Photography on the Journey
ZENFU Travel reserves the right to take and publish photographs during the operation of any journey or part thereof for promotional and editorial purposes. By booking a reservation with ZENFU Travel, travelers agree to allow their image to be used in such photographs; travelers who prefer that their image not be used are asked to identify themselves to their tour guide at the commencement of their journey.

Traveler’s Responsibility
Travelers have the responsibility to select a journey appropriate to their abilities, interests and physical condition. In order to assist you, we can advise on the level of activity and cultural immersion involved in each itinerary. We are also happy to discuss any concerns or requirements with you prior to booking.
Travelers are held responsible for being in sufficient good health to undertake the journey. Travelers are responsible for preparing for the trip by studying the itinerary and pre-departure information sent by ZENFU Travel, and for bringing the appropriate clothing, equipment and personal items as advised therein.
ZENFU Travel’s Responsibility
ZENFU Travel shall always do its utmost to provide the services to the best of its capacity. ZENFU Travel organizes, promotes, and sells custom journey programs consisting of certain travel services, including but not limited to, ground transportation, excursions, accommodations, guide services and cultural experiences which ZENFU Travel purchases or reserves from various local suppliers.
Agents and local partners providing travel services for ZENFU Travel’s programs are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of ZENFU Travel. Thus, the responsibility of ZENFU Travel is strictly limited. ZENFU Travel is not responsible for the willful or negligent acts and /or omissions of such agents or transportation and lodging service providers or their respective employees, or representatives including, without limitation, their failure to deliver or their partial or inadequate delivery of services.
All coupons, receipts and tickets are issued subject to the terms and conditions specified by the suppliers. By utilizing the travel services of the suppliers, you agree that neither ZENFU Travel nor any representative of ZENFU Travel shall be liable for any accident, injury, costs, property damage or personal loss to you or those traveling with you in connection with any accommodations, transportation or other travel services, or resulting directly or indirectly from any occurrences or conditions beyond ZENFU Travel’s control, including but not limited to, acts of terrorism, war, defects in vehicles, breakdown of equipment, strikes, theft, delay or cancellation of or changes in itinerary or schedules.
ZENFU Travel is not responsible for expenses incurred by you in preparing for the trip (e.g. non-refundable advance purchase international air tickets, visa fees, equipment, medical expenses, etc.) or for any necessary additional travel arrangements should you embark from home before the scheduled departure date.
Claims
Any dispute arising from the service provided by ZENFU Travel shall be settled through friendly consultation between the parties. The claiming party shall notify the other party within 30 days after the end of the services in a dated notice in English language that a dispute has arisen and describe the nature of the dispute.
If no settlement can be reached through such consultation within 60 days after the date of such notice of dispute, the claiming party may refer the matter to the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), for final arbitration in the People’s Republic of China by an ad hoc arbitration tribunal according to the arbitration rules of CIETAC.

I have also read and understood the full itinerary of the journey I am booking, and agree to be bound by all terms outlined above.
