Beneath Zhangjiajie peaks lies a millennium-old narrative of the Tujia people.
The mountains of Zhangjiajie are world-renowned, but we want to take you beyond the landscapes to touch the living memories of western Hunan (Xiangxi). From the ancient, woven patterns of Xilankapu brocade to the authentic, hearty flavors of a Tujia feast; from the enduring wisdom preserved beneath the eaves of traditional stilted houses (Diaojiaolou) to the vibrant dances, drums, and folk rituals—the culture here is not relegated to history. It breathes freely within the daily lives of the locals.
Therefore, this is not your typical “check-the-box” tour. We invite you into intangible cultural heritage workshops to feel the texture of the Xilankapu with your own hands; to step onto the Tianmen Mountain Golf Course, where the elegance of your swing meets the vastness of the wild; and to hear the cultural echoes of the Tujia people amidst the night sky, bonfires, and ancient melodies.
Over five days, with nature as our canvas and heritage as our soul, you will seamlessly transition between active pursuits, exploration, and deep cultural immersion. The mountains provide a magnificent backdrop, but the culture is the true landscape we want you to discover.
Perfect for: High-end vacationers, golf enthusiasts, photography lovers, families seeking in-depth travel, and international visitors to China.
Dive deep into the roots of Xiangxi with Xilankapu weaving, the grand Charming Xiangxi cultural performance, and the intangible heritage market at the 72 Strange Buildings.
Tee off at the championship 18-hole golf course facing Tianmen Cave. Enjoy an exclusive vantage point of Zhangjiajie, with thousands of sheer peaks acting as your natural frame.
Venture deep into the mystical peak forests of Wulingyuan on foot, complemented by an exhilarating helicopter ride for a multi-angle unveiling of this breathtaking UNESCO natural wonder.
Experience the slow-paced life of a mountain town as you take in the morning mist over the Tuojiang River and the brilliant nightlights of Fenghuang (Phoenix) Ancient Town.
Arrive at Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport or the high-speed rail station, where your private driver will meet you and take you to your hotel.
Depending on your arrival time, the afternoon can be tailored to your pace:
